The rules, in plain words.
Nota Club is run by KNOW NOTA Inc., a Delaware corporation (“we”). Taking part means you accept these rules, which form part of our Terms. Updated 23 August 2026.
1. What Nota Club is
A referral program with three parts: (a) daily-word boosts for you and the people you invite, (b) a seasonal leaderboard with prizes for the top places, and (c) the Golden Note draw, a free prize draw in which each qualified invite is one entry. No purchase is necessary to take part in any of it.
2. Who can take part
Anyone with a Know Nota account who is at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher), except our employees, contractors and their immediate households. Void where prohibited or restricted by law; it is your responsibility to check that taking part is lawful where you live. One account per person.
3. What counts as a qualified invite
An invite counts once when a new person creates a Know Nota account through your link or note and runs a real scan of 250 words or more. Your own alternate accounts, accounts created with disposable or invented addresses, accounts that never scan, scripted sign-ups, and sign-ups obtained by paying, spamming or deceiving people do not count — and are grounds for disqualification (section 7). We decide whether an invite qualifies, acting reasonably and on our records.
4. Boosts
Each qualified invite adds 200 words a day to your free daily limit, up to 2,000 words a day from invites; joining through someone’s link adds 500 words a day to yours. Boosts apply to the free plan’s daily words, are not cash, have no monetary value and cannot be transferred or sold. Boosts earned honestly stay even if the program ends.
5. The season leaderboard and its prizes
Each season (currently Fall ’26, from 2026-08-15 to 2026-12-20 UTC) ranks accounts by qualified invites during the season; ties are broken by the earlier time the tying invite count was reached. The top-3 season prizes are announced on the Club page before any prize for that season is awarded; until then the podium reads “announced soon”. The merch prizes are listed on the Club page. One prize per person per season; we may add prizes during a season but will not remove announced ones. Prizes are as described or of equivalent value and specification if the named item is unavailable in your region; we may substitute a product of equal or greater value, and prizes have no cash alternative except where required by law. Winners are contacted at their account email within 14 days of the season’s end and must confirm a shipping address, identity and eligibility within 14 days; otherwise the prize passes to the next eligible place. We pay shipping; any import duties or taxes are the winner’s responsibility.
6. The Golden Note draw (a free prize draw — no purchase necessary)
How entries work. Each qualified invite during a draw period is one entry. Draw periods are calendar months (UTC). You can also enter without inviting anyone and without buying anything: email club@knownota.com from your account email with the subject “Golden Note entry” during the draw period; each such email is one entry, one email per person per period. Free-mail entries and invite entries are treated identically.
Drawing. Within 7 days after each period ends we pick one entry at random from all entries for that period. Odds depend on the number of entries. The winner is contacted at their account email and must claim within 14 days, after which we draw again. The current draw prize is listed on the Club page; it has no cash alternative except where required by law. Winning the draw does not affect the leaderboard, and vice versa.
Where it applies. The draw is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Where local law requires a licence, registration or bond for prize draws that we do not hold, residents of that place are not eligible for the draw (they remain eligible for boosts and the leaderboard).
7. Fraud, abuse and disqualification
We will disqualify — and may remove boosts from, suspend or close — any account that creates fake or duplicate accounts, invites itself, uses bots or scripts, buys or sells invites or entries, harasses or spams people, tampers with links, or otherwise games the program. Disqualified accounts forfeit prizes and leaderboard places, including after a prize has been announced. We may verify identity and eligibility before awarding any prize and may withhold a prize until we are satisfied.
8. Our right to change, suspend or cancel
We may change these rules, the prizes (never removing an announced prize from a running season), the boosts for future invites, the draw, or the program as a whole, and may suspend or cancel any of them — for any reason, including fraud, technical failure, legal requirements or events outside our control — by notice on the Club page. Changes apply from the date they are posted; boosts already earned honestly stay. If a season is cancelled before it ends, we may award announced prizes based on the standings at cancellation or declare it void, and we will say which on the Club page.
9. Privacy and publicity
Leaderboards show handles only, never emails or names. Invitations you send by email carry your account email as the reply address. Winners agree that we may post their handle and prize on the Club page; we will not publish your name or face without your separate consent. Our Privacy page describes what we store.
10. Liability and governing law
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost, late or misdirected entries, technical failures, prizes lost or damaged in transit after hand-over to the carrier, or anything outside our reasonable control; prizes are provided as-is with the manufacturer’s warranty only. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and the state and federal courts in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
